The project defines a new city model for the future of North Torino. It interprets the location “Scalo Vanchiglia”, an abandoned railway emplacement, as a joint between the nature-park fabric and the urban fabric. The main public space is constituted by the “Fluidum”, a linear park that follows, in the surface, the new underground line, a public space with recreational places, sport and buildings with social use. The project proposes in time line a flexible-density occupation of the site, as the development in this period is uncertain. The district is self-sufficient in its energy consuming and preserves a lot of space for private and urban vegetable gardens. The district also needs to be self-supporting for its services, private or public. They need to be brought close to its inhabitants.
